Looks stock, sounds great but I recently started hearing an alternator whine at certain volumes/certain songs so I need to go back and get that addressed. New amp, speakers, JBL custom box that fits under rear seat (carpeted to match interior). That being said, I had enough of my Platinum Ford F150 stereo (it was terrible stock) and I went back and gutted it but left the factory head unit (once again, too integrated in the dash/steering wheel controls). Aftermarket alarms had the same consequences. He told me the game changer car was the Chrysler 300 back about 7-8 years ago.the radio was tied into the car's computer, it was so integrated that when you removed it the car had all sorts of issues. In the past I have dropped off brand new cars (like 100 miles on them) and had the interior removed, huge stereo/alarm installed.but as I got older and stereos got better, I did less work with him and obviously so did others. I have had a good friend in that business for over 30 years and it isn't a bright future. His shop has significantly downsized (like 10% of what it once was). I couldn't even imagine trying to replace that and have the integration manufacturers have in place today. In the last 4 cars I have driven the display is tied in with the stereo. With todays stock stereos being integrated with the rest of the car what does the future hold for aftermarket stereos? I used to always replace my car stereo with something better.
